CHEMISTRY IS COOL!
Grades 3 - 5 (1 week - 2 hours)
Monday, June 15 - Friday, June 19
1:00pm - 3:00pm
Cost: $140 per student
Elementary school is the perfect time to get kids interested in science when they are naturally curious. Science education fuels that curiosity and provides children with valuable ideas, skills, and potential future career choices. However, science often takes a back seat with the push of reading and math being so strong. Hands-on "lab" time is also a luxury in many schools. Students will explore important concepts in science through a wide variety of chemistry experiments.
Receive a new science kit each day to use in class and then take home and keep. Experiment with chemoluminescence. Learn to time reaction rates and experiment with ways to speed up or slow down reaction times in chemical experiments. Experiment with chromatography and dyes. Learn about cross-linking gels and polymers by making slimy ooze and "eco-foam fizzle." Experiment with the properties of latex rubber by making rubber balls, stamps, erasers, and more. Fun experiments and important science concepts every day.
21st Century Skills - students will learn or further develop problem-solving and critical thinking skills through the scientific method.
This registration only holds your child's place for 4 days. If payment has not been made after the 4 day period, the registration will be dropped. Registration is not complete until full payment is made.
